At present, the scheme is only open to employees with contracts of at least 3 months duration.  With effect from 1st February, 2013, employees with contracts for less than 3 months will be able to opt to join the scheme.  A joining form is available from the Forms and Publications area.

 Also from 1st February 2013, where an employee opts out of the Scheme within three months of joining, their membership is treated as being cancelled and responsibility for refunding pension contributions and making adjustments to national insurance contributions rests with the employer.
